Wassily Chair
Marcel Breuer
Price: $1,824
The Wassily Chair was designed in 1925 and is one of the most popular and
recognizable symbols of the Bauhaus movement. Named for Wassily
Kandinsky, one of the fathers of abstract painting and a colleague of Breuer's at the
Bauhaus, the Wassily Chair has long been a favorite of design aficionados
and architects. The chair's gleaming chrome finished tubular steel frame and
thick cowhide leather slings create a seamless assemblage that works beautifully
in both elegantly appointed commercial settings or up-scale residential
applications. Marcel Breuer's signature is
stamped into the base of each chair.
