Created by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for the 1929 German Pavilion at the Barcelona Exposition, the Barcelona Chair reflects the clean, structural integrity of the greatest modern architecture. Each Barcelona Chair and Ottoman utilizes 304 bar stock stainless steel. Single piece frame elements are shaped, welded and hand buffed to a mirror finish. Individual leather panels are cut, hand-welted and hand-tufted. All panels and buttons are crafted from a single hide. Each Chair is stamped with the Knoll Studio logo and the signature of Mies van der Rohe.
