Jens Risom's original 1941 collection from Knoll incorporates a sturdy form
characteristic of understated Scandinavian design. The side and lounge chairs
previously made of woven cotton webbing and wood (materials not subject to
wartime restrictions) have now been updated with a variety of fabric options and
colors. The Risom Side Chair is a spare, taut and affordable entry into the
designers' iconic collection. Bulky cushions are replaced with
basket-woven upholstered straps, adding strength and resilience.
Each piece is stamped with the Knoll Studio logo and
the designer's signature.
