The Eames LCM was designed in 1946 by Charles and Ray Eames and is
unquestionably one of their best known and most influential creations.
The chair evolved out of their commission from the U.S.
Navy in 1942 to develop plywood splints, stretchers, and molded
glider shells under heat and pressure.
