The Eames Shell Chairs represented a breakthrough in the commercial use of fiberglass-reinforced plastic for seating. The sculptural chair combined thoughtful engineering with a clean, simple aesthetic. The current model, produced by Herman Miller®, is the same as the original, but is constructed of environmentally friendly polypropylene. The chair is a comfortable , highly durable seating solution for high-traffic commercial settings and reception areas.
